A Pittsburgh-based sports and bar enthusiast was stoked after spotting a Panda Express bar at Dallas Forth Worth International Airport. The discovery motivated him to document his experience there.
“I think it’s safe to say that this is the craziest bar of all time,” Tony Rav (@tonyrav) starts.
The Panda Express Bar Drink Menu
“The Panda Express bar at DFW terminal E. This bar is insane, bro. They have signature drinks,” he adds before flipping the camera around to show viewers the bar’s menu placard. The menu includes the following boozy beverages to pair with your heaping portions of orange chicken:
- Kung Pao Margarita
- Lemon Drop
- Blushing Panda Mojito
- Tequila Sunrise
- Panda Paradise Sunset
- White Russian (nothing like milk and alcohol to go with fried rice)
- Dragon Elixir
- Panda Mule
- Dirty Martini
- Old Fashion
- Cosmo
- Malibu Bay Breeze
- Green Tea Shot
- Panda Pop
- Espresso Martini
If cocktails aren’t your thing, the bar also has four wine choices and serves four keg types on draft, along with several different bottled beers. While perusing the menu, Rav makes his choice and notices another detail that gets him audibly excited. “I’m getting the Panda Mule. And look at this, their own food menu for the bar, and you can order over there,” he says.
There’s a Panda Express counter where other customers are standing in line to place food orders.
How Are The Panda Express Bar’s Drinks?
Rav’s video cuts to him showing off the Moscow mule on camera. Like Moscow mules at most bars, it shows up in a copper mug. But he says that the fast-food chain’s version has its own twist. “All right, the Panda Mule came. She [the bartender] said it comes with a strawberry puree. After taking a sip, he furrows his brows and murmurs, “I taste the strawberry. It’s a bit spicy. … I think lime. It’s good, though. That’s so good. This place kinda rocks, dude.”
His enthusiasm over finding the airport bar prompted him to get another drink off the menu. “All right, I had to get one more. I had to get one more. Don’t hate the player; hate the game. Russian Panda Mojito. I look like a female getting two red drinks at this bar. I don’t give a s—.”
Rav then slurps it down. “10 out of 10,” he says before he heads to his gate to board his flight. “All right, Panda Express bar review, that place rocks, man. I’m a Panda Express truther. If you know me, you know this. Did I get food? Absolutely not. Getting Panda before a flight should put you in jail. We’re gonna give it a 7.6 out of 10.”
Airport Bars Are A Lawless Wasteland
There aren’t many places in the U.S. where you can order a rum and coke or slam two pints of beer without judgment at 9am. But the airport is one of those places.
Tasting Table highlights how at Chicago O’Hare Airport, some bars open at 6am, allowing travelers to get krunk well before banks open their doors. But why is this the case?
According to the outlet, many bars operate outside normal hours in airports due to the nature of these liminal spaces. Travelers stopping by at these hubs are all operating on different time zones, meaning they are carrying their own circadian clocks adjusted to specific internal times, i.e., “it’s 5 o’clock somewhere.” Ultimately, time isn’t relevant for someone who just traveled 12 hours.
There is something inherently peculiar about seeing an establishment that usually comes with a drive-thru also serve White Russians and margaritas. But if you like the thought of that, you may want to check out a Taco Bell Cantina location. It serves up the popular chain’s classic foods, along with alcohol-infused Freezes, Sangria, and other booze.
