Dave Chappelle Roasts Kanye West And Kyrie Irving In Hilarious SNL Monologue

Dave Chappelle Destroys Kanye West And Kyrie Irving In SNL Monologue

NBC

Continuing a tradition that first began back in 2016 following the election of former President Donald Trump, legendary stand-up comedian Dave Chappelle — who is certainly no stranger to controversy himself — was tasked with hosting the first episode of Saturday Night Live following a major election.

Chappelle, who hosted SNL following the elections in 2020 and 2016, used his 15-minute-long monologue to touch on a variety of topics, including the recent antisemitism displayed by fashion designer Kanye West and flat-Earth-truther Kyrie Irving.

Dave Chappelle hosted Saturday Night Live following the midterm elections and took shots at both Kanye West and Kyrie Irving

“I denounce antisemitism in all its forms, and I stand with my friends in the Jewish community,” Chappelle began, reading from a prepared statement. “And that, Kanye, is how you buy yourself some time… I learned that there are two words in the English language that you should never say together in sequence. And those words are ‘the’ and ‘Jews.’”

“It’s a lot of Jews. Like, a lot. But that doesn’t mean anything. There’s a lot of Black people in Ferguson, Mo. That doesn’t mean they run the place,” Chappelle said later on

Chappelle’s comments about West (who he has had a personal relationship with in the past) and Irving come after the pair both spent recent weeks and months engaging in antisemitic rhetoric.

As a result of their actions, Kanye has been dropped by the likes of Gap and Adidas — his net worth has reportedly also dropped from over $1 billion to about $400 million — while Kyrie Irving is currently suspended from the Brooklyn Nets and must complete a litany of tasks to display that he’s learned from this experience before he can begin playing again.

In addition to the opening monologue, Chappelle also appeared in a couple of sketches, which you can find on SNL‘s YouTube channel.
