It’s Late 2020 And Dispatch Just Dropped A New Song Which Is Reason Enough To Celebrate Today

2020 just got a little bit better, my dudes. Sure, there are a lot of reasons these days to stay in bed and be miserable. 2020 has been nothing short of awful. A year that’s completely upended everyday life for a lot of people. But I’m here to give you gentlemen a reason to smile today. Dispatch is back.

The Indie (jam?) band with Brad Corrigan and Chad Urmston just dropped a new song titled “May We All” from Dispatch’s new EP Phase 1 which is just one part of their upcoming album which will be released in 2021. That’s right, my dudes, we’ve got a whole new Dispatch album on the way next year and you know what new albums mean, don’t you? It means new tours. And that’s a reason to be hopeful for what’s coming next in life.

Here’s their new song “May We All” for you to enjoy and I’ve got an exclusive quote for BroBible from the band below this track:

Brad Corrigan has this to say about ‘Phase 1’, what’s led up to this, and what comes next:

“Our release of “Phase 1” today is the first of a multi-series release plan for our new Dispatch album over the next several months. We’re excited to have you with us for the journey. Over the last year our band has moved through many growing pains + phases of change, while as a society + global community we’ve had to adapt to immeasurable challenges worldwide.

Personally, we have dealt with loss, as well as the joy of birth in our families, and we’ve watched our band stumble and look for new footing as we carry on without a founding member. Meanwhile, the world is enduring a season of political, economic, and racial upheaval greater than any we’ve seen in our lifetimes. Our new album was written and recorded largely from reflecting on and processing all of these local and global phases of change. Thanks for coming along with us, and we hope you all enjoy Phase 1!”

Brad added “We wanted to walk people through the feelings of sadness and anger and loss we’ve all been experiencing lately and take them to the other side,” says Corrigan. “We wanted to deliver them to a place where they’re wiser and more compassionate, a place where they’re kinder and more unified, a place where they’re ready to truly protect and care for each other.”

I go through phases of trying to find new bands to listen to or tap into new genres of music I’m not familiar with but inevitably I always have these moments where revert to my favorites, the bands I discovered in my formative days, the bands I’ve seen countless times live, I go back the bands I’ve always loved.

I’ve only seen Dispatch live in concert a few times (three, I think) but they were one of the bands I came to discover in my freshmen year of college that would put me on a musical path where I met some of my closest friends on the planet and have shared the most memorable nights of my life. Good times. Can’t wait to see what the tour looks like a few years from now when things start to normalize.
