Draymond Green Takes Inspiration From Russell Wilson, Shows Up To Opening Night Dressed Like The Riddler, Ignores The Fact He’s Perhaps The Most Disliked Player In The NBA

Draymond Green Shows Up To Opening Night Dressed Like The Riddler

Draymond Green is basically the epitome of that Anchorman moment where Wes Mantooth tells Ron Burgundy that while he might pure, straight hate him, he also — in his heart of hearts — respects him. That’s Draymond Green.

While everyone more or less “understands” Green’s legacy and his importance to the Golden State Warriors dynasty, that doesn’t make his antics any more tolerable nor his “triple-single” career averages any less hilarious. Green is basically the Shrek of the NBA minus the heart of gold and ability to woo a princess — he’s big, he’s ugly, he’s loud, he’s unconventional, and he’s still, somehow, the star of the show. Do a Google Images search of the pair and tell me you don’t see the similarities.

Still, despite the fact that he’s now 32 years old, Green has somehow only further damaged his juvenile image in recent weeks following his disgusting sucker-punch of teammate Jordan Poole, who recently signed a $140 million extension with the Warriors.

Doing his best to ignore the fact that he’s perhaps the most disliked player in the league these days, Green showed up to the Warriors’ opening night game against the Los Angeles Lakers dressed like a Leprechaun determined to give off the energy of this meme:

Green’s arrival to the Warriors’ first game of the season was quite similar to Russell Wilson’s entrance when the Denver Broncos visited the Seattle Seahawks for Week 1 of the NFL season back in September. Like Green, Wilson is also desperately trying to ignore the fact that he’s the league’s most disliked player.

The funniest part of the video, though — other than the 11 seconds it takes him to button his jacket — is that when Green turns away from the camera, you can see that the threads in the back of his jacket (the flaps) are still connected, which suggests he actually doesn’t know how a suit is supposed to fit.

As mentioned above, Green, Poole, and the rest of the Golden State Warriors will kick off their NBA title defense on Tuesday night against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
