After making some headlines with her revelation that she paid off her mortgage in “five minutes” after joining an adult content subscription website, former The Sopranos star Drea de Matteo is continuing to speak out, this time detailing why Hollywood is a “cesspit.”

In an interview with The Daily Mail, the 52-year-old Emmy-winning actress said that the capital of entertainment is a “cesspit” and that “TV sucks” these days.

“I mean, that place [Hollywood] is a freaking cesspool. I’m not gonna lie. TV sucks. There’s nothing great. Sopranos opened the door for [me] 100 percent,” de Matteo said.

While The Daily Mail‘s interview with de Matteo does not feature any direct quotes from her saying she was “blacklisted,” Daily Mail used the word in their article four times.

Sopranos actress Drea de Matteo has slammed Hollywood after being blacklisted by the studios for refusing to get the vaccine – revealing that it would take a lot for her to come out of retirement,” the interview begins.

de Matteo also said that the streaming era, which only helps corporations and not audiences, has resulted in the television landscape becoming “so saturated.”

“The industry has just… everything that our generation has pushed for, whether it be better television, whether it be human rights, body sovereignty, all of these things, they took it and made an aberration out of it. And the same thing went for television. Television is so saturated. Streaming doesn’t help anybody except for the big corporations,” she said.

In addition to her famed role as Adriana La Cerva on The Sopranos, de Matteo has also starred in TV series such as Shades of Blue, Desperate Housewives, Sons of Anarchy, Mayans M.C., and the Friends spinoff Joey. Some of her best-known film credits at Swordfish, Assault on Precinct 13, and New York, I Love You.
