These Are The Drunkest Cities In Every State In America

In 2016, the city of Appleton, Wisconsin was awarded the title of the Drunkest City In America, but this year they were unseated this year by the nearby city of Green Bay because there’s apparently nothing to do in bumfuck cities in Wisconsin besides drinking to numb the pain of having to live in a bumfuck city in Wisconsin.

However, there are plenty of other states where people drink rely on alcohol to deal with the fact that they live in a place where Waffle House is considered a nice restaurant.

24/7 Wall Street conducted an incredibly extensive survey conducted by the Center for Disease Control that examined the drinking behaviors of people in every state in the country, which examined the number of denizens in various cities who have admitted to regularly binge drinking in research conducted by the  (which amounts to four or more drinks for women and five or more drinks for men). Some of the results were pretty obvious— no one should be surprised by State College taking the title in Pennsylvania— while others were a bit of a shock (such as Ocean City, which my knowledgeable colleague Paul Sacca noted has banned the sale of alcohol within city limits).

USA Today was kind enough to compile the results— which aren’t ranked in any particular order— into an easily digestible graphic showcasing the cities where people just can’t stop drinking.

The study noted that the South surprisingly had the lowest percentage of heavy drinkers in general, while people in states in the Midwest tend to drink more than most (because I guess you have to do something while watching crops grow).

I wish the state of Wisconsin the best of luck of winning its third consecutive title in 2018.
