Dwayne Johnson Perfectly Recreated His Viral Turtleneck And Fanny Pack Look For Christmas

For some unspecified reason, Dwayne Johnson decided that for Christmas he would recreate his viral turtleneck, gold chain and fanny pack look, complete with hair, from the 1990s.

“Merry Christmas, from your keepin’ it 💯 friend. 90’s Rock. #TappinFannys,” Dwayne Johnson wrote in the description to the comedic video on Instagram.

Not only was he keeping it 100, The Rock also belted out some classic Christmas carols (with a handful of the words changed) as he walked down a festively decorated hallway.

“😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂,” Johnson’s buddy Kevin Hart wrote in the comments.

In case you are one of the three people in the world still unaware of why Dwayne Johnson was dressed up this way, The Rock went viral in the mid-2010s after a photo of him dressed up in that outfit (with a carefully placed tissue on the ledge just to keep his turtleneck sparkling clean) back in the day.

“Fanny pack and lean take it to a whole other level… #90sRock #WTF #BuffLesbian,” Johnson captioned the photo after it went viral.

He would later go on The Tonight Show and explained some of the logic behind the photo as well as the secret everyone wanted to know: what was in the fanny pack?

The photo would also lead to numerous others following suit and dressing up in similar outfits.

Among those who paid “tribute” were Kevin Hart.

Also getting in on the fun was Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

This also isn’t the first time that Dwayne Johnson has recreated his famous 1990s look. It’s just the first time he did it with the glorious hair.

“When I took this iconic absurdity of a picture in 1996 I was one year removed from sleeping on a used mattress I took from a garbage dumpster in the back of an hourly sex motel,” Dwayne Johnson wrote in 2017. “Couldn’t afford to buy a bed so we do what we gotta do to get by. You can imagine all the fun colorful bodily fluids I tried my best to clean off.

“21 years later I’m taking the same photo backstage hosting #SaturdayNightLive for the fifth time. If you’re going thru your own tough times ‘used mattress’ stage, do your best to have faith things’ll get better and always be willing to outwork your competition because you never know where life is gonna take you.

“And ALWAYS remember to place a soft tissue under your left elbow as to protect the fabric of the cheap a– swag turtleneck that had you out here looking like a bad a– buff lesbian.
