New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz has been sidelined with an injury since mid-March during the World Baseball Classic when he tore the patellar tendon in his right knee celebrating Puerto Rico’s win over the Dominican Republic.

There is hope that Edwin will be able to return to the team before the end of the season. The Mets could really use him as they sit 13 games behind the Braves in the NL East.

Edwin Diaz‘s injury came about 4 months after he signed a massive contract with the Mets for 5 years, $102,000,000. And while he’s been rehabbing his injury, Edwin put some of that contract money towards as $250,000 diamond chain with a trumpet.

The trumpet, as everyone knows, is part of his walkout routine to the mound when coming into the game for a save with ‘Narcos’ playing.

Diaz’s new diamond trumpet necklas was made by Tajia Diamonds (Victor Rodriguez) who shared video of it on Instagram:

According to TMZ Sports, the $250,000 trumpet itself features 75 carats of VS diamonds and F color stones.

The chain features an additional 100 carats of VS diamonds. He also took ownership of a matching diamond bracelet with his number, ’39’, emblazoned across it in diamonds. Because why stop at the necklace when you’re dropping a quarter of a million dollars on jewelry?

Diaz is earning $17,250,000 this season while rehabbing his injury.
