For many people, eggnog is a staple of the holiday season. Sure, you can rely on hot chocolate to combat the cold, but it’s just as easy to get a different kind of warm and fuzzy feeling by throwing back a few glasses of the creamy concoction that’s frequently spiked with a smorgasbord of various spirits.

There’s technically no “correct” way to make eggnog (if you’re looking for a starting point, it’s hard to go wrong with the one that Alton Brown whipped up), as many fans rely on a fairly unscientific approach that’s often derived from years (or even decades) of experimentation; I’ll never forget the time I watch a family friend spend a full hour pouring from a rotation of rum, brandy, cognac, vodka, and bourbon into a punch bowl before determining it was time to unleash one of the deadliest and delicious drinks I’ve ever sipped upon a Christmas party.

With that said, there are certainly incorrect ways to make eggnog; last year, the folks at Hidden Valley made the internet collectively gag when it released a “Ranch Nog” kit inspired by its signature dressing and seasoning.

Now, another fairly unlikely brand has opted to try its hand at eggnog just in time for the holidays with a new creation that sounds a bit more promising.

On Tuesday, Eggo announced it has teamed up with Tennessee’s Sugarlands Distilling Co. for a collaboration appropriately dubbed “Eggo Nog,” which is described as a “Sippin’ Cream” designed to mimic the taste of a toasted waffle.

The drink is a rum-based liqueur flavored with notes of cinnamon and nutmeg that clocks in at 20% ABV, and if it sounds like something that’s up your alley, keep an eye out for the 750 ml bottles that will be rolling out across the United States as we inch closer to winter.
