We Went Electric Surfing With Forrest Galante And Had The Time Of Our Lives

As a guy who can’t be in the sun for more than 20 minutes without getting burnt to a crisp, it’s safe to say that I am not much of a surfer. Any attempt at me surfing would most likely lead to some pretty rough wipeouts and some unathletic attempts to get up on a board. This is why, from a content perspective, it was a no brainer for me to say yes to Animal Planet host Forrest Galante’s offer to try out E Wave’s new electronic jet surfboards in his home waters of Santa Barbara, California.

Moto surfing is something that is fairly new to the water sports industry and really starting to pick up steam. It is a perfect combination of surfing, wakeboarding, snowboarding all packed up, and nicely fit into one 6” long carbon fiber hull. Little did I know, these boards reach up to 35 MPH on the water and were a guarantee to have the entire Santa Barbara pier watching in awe of what was going on.

We were joined by Dana Lundquist, the co-developer of the E Wave Boards as well as a dear friend of the pod, Joey Cold Cuts, plus, of course, Mr. Galante himself. It was a set up for what was an epic day that we were able to capture all for the vlog. Although it did not come without a few wipeouts, I can honestly say I was blown away by how fast I was able to get the hang of these boards and start ripping it across the waves and look like I actually knew what I was doing.
