No entertainment venue in history has ever gone as viral as the ‘Sphere’ in Las Vegas. It has been officially open for less than a full month but every video that comes from inside is just as mind-blowing as the first.
The Sphere is located at the Venetian Resort and first lit the exosphere on the 4th of July. Visuals projected on the giant glowing ball of LED lights are captivating passersby on the streets of Sin City.
However, those who are willing to pay big bucks to see a concert from within have been treated to the most incredible displays of imagery— unless they are seated in one particular section with an awful obstructed view that ruins the entire experience. But that is neither here nor there.
With a capacity of 18,000, the Sphere auditorium stands 366 feet tall and 516 feet wide. It is equipped with the world’s largest LED screen and a whopping 164,000 surround-sound speakers.
Not only are you immersed in the audio, but the spherical arena surrounds you with breathtaking graphics and illustrations. All of the images are displayed in 18K on a curving 270-degree screen, which is about the size of four football fields.
It’s almost as if you enter a different world when you walk inside of the doors.
Among those who entered the portal is Elon Musk. He pulled up to U2’s concert on Saturday night and got to experience the remarkable venue in person for the first time.
In his words, it is “exquisite beyond words.”
Musk also posted a video from inside the Sphere. Animals of all kinds were projected onto the ceiling and seemingly frozen in time. The lighting made it look like an out-of-body experience.
U2 is currently set to hold its residency through the middle of February. Tickets are already sold-out.
From there, it is unclear as to who might take over, but one strong theory has emerged.
