Thanks to the United States government’s sudden interest in being (slightly) more transparent when it comes to what it knows about UFOs and UFO encounters, Americans now seem to be fascinated by the topic more than ever.
Throw in a flurry of documented UFO sightings and four mysterious UFOs being shot out of the sky by the United States military over the past week and it’s easy to see why.

Speaking on Wednesday at the World Government Summit in Dubai, SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk had a somewhat surprising take on the subject of UFOs and aliens.
Musk, who is hellbent on humans colonizing Mars, was asked if he believes the UFOs shot down by US fighter jets were alien in nature.

“I don’t think it’s aliens, no,” Musk replied. “I do find the whole question of the aliens a very interesting one, you know, what is typically called the Fermi paradox, which is that if the universe is really as old as scientists think it is, and where are the aliens?
“If it really has been around for 15.8 billion years, if so, shouldn’t there be aliens all over the place? The crazy thing is that I’ve seen no evidence of alien technology, or alien life whatsoever. And I think I’d know. You know, SpaceX… I don’t think anyone knows more about space than me or at least about space technology.
“I think it’s actually a troubling thing if there are no aliens as well,” Musk continued. “What that actually could mean then is that civilization and consciousness is like a tiny candle in the vast darkness. And a very vulnerable tiny candle that could easily get blown out.
“And I think we should therefore take great care with what may very well be this tiny candle in the vast darkness, and make sure it does not go out, and that we extend the light of consciousness beyond Earth, and do everything we can to ensure that the light of consciousness does not go out.”

Meanwhile, as Elon Musk continues his preparations for colonizing Mars, he is now suddenly facing some competition.
Blue Origin, owned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, was recently selected by NASA to launch a new mission to Mars.
Hopefully, one day we will be the aliens visiting other worlds
