Erin Moriarty turned heads and went viral during a screening event for the hit Prime Video series The Boys, causing both her former haters and longtime fans to sing her praises after months of abuse on social media about her looks.
Moriarty, who plays Annie January / Starlight on Prime Video’s The Boys, attended the series finale event this week and promptly broke the brains of everyone who had spent the better part of three years insisting she had ruined her looks with plastic surgery (which she has never even confirmed undergoing).
The harassment Moriarty faced over the years about her appearance has been ongoing among the The Boys “fans” for a few years now, with internet trolls posting side-by-side comparisons of her appearance across different seasons of the show, claiming she had gotten extensive plastic surgery. Moriarty addressed the harassment publicly, calling it harmful and describing the toll it took on her mental health.

“The internet spent months ruthlessly bullying this woman for her face, and now that she looks absolutely stunning at the finale, everyone is going to pretend they were always supporting her. The hypocrisy on this app is disgusting. She won, haters lost,” read one viral response to the photos.
“She fine asf again damn what a comeback,” a second declared.
“How beautiful she is and how nasty people are online and how they’ve gone after her looks,” a third added.
“Anyone who says Erin got ugly is just not looking in the mirror, look at this GODDESS,” a fourth concurred.
“She’s f—— beautiful idc what any of you losers say.”
“They couldn’t convince me she was unattractive. And believe me they tried.”
“They tried to convince me this woman was ugly.”
Moriarty was diagnosed with Graves’ disease — an autoimmune condition that affects the thyroid gland and can cause fatigue, anxiety, and weight loss — while filming the final season of The Boys in 2025. She eventually revealed diagnosis on Instagram, saying: “If I hadn’t chalked it all up to stress and fatigue, I would’ve caught this sooner. Within 24 hours of beginning treatment, I felt the light coming back on.”
Her battle with Graves’ disease was so difficult that she revealed she hasn’t been watching the final season of The Boys as it was filmed during the height of her symptoms.
