It has been several months since any new discoveries have been made in the mystery of missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.

New evidence has been discovered which suggests that the pilot of MH370, Zaharie Ahmad Shah, was deliberately trying to crash the airliner somewhere over the Indian Ocean.

It has now been over 3,200 days since Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 vanished without a trace, taking all 239 people on board with it.

Somehow, after all those days, not a single one of those missing passengers has been found.

Theories abound as to what happened to the plane and its 239 passengers, but so far none have panned out.

That hasn’t stopped numerous experts and investigators from continuing their efforts to figure it out, however.

The latest evidence to surface in the mystery indicates the landing gear on missing flight MH370 was down when it vanished. This would have made the jet sink more quickly if it were crashed into the ocean.

Pilots are trained to do the exact opposite, keep the landing gear retracted, in the event of a emergency water landing.

The Daily Mail reports…

Last month, a landing gear door was found in the possession of a Madagascan fisherman. According to experts, it is the first piece of evidence found that suggests one of the Malaysian Airlines pilots acted deliberately.

The door has been identified as a component of a Boeing 777, known as a trunnion door. It likely penetrated the inside of the aircraft’s disintegrating engines.

This, experts have said, makes it highly probable that the landing gear was down when the aircraft crashed into the ocean, The Times has reported.

“The combination of the high speed impact designed to break up the aircraft and the extended landing gear designed to sink the aircraft as fast as possible both show a clear intent to hide the evidence of the crash,” researchers said.

If the landing gear was down when it hit the water it would have made the water impact much more violent and given any passengers who survived much less time to escape the sinking plane.

It has been widely speculated that the pilot of Flight MH370 either deliberately crashed the jet or was the victim of a hijacking. One aviation expert forth theories about how Russia would have had the means and motive to hijack the flight.

There has been no shortage of other theories as well over the years.

One aviation crash investigator is pretty sure “MH370 was a criminal act, the aircraft was intentionally ditched.”

Another popular theory posits that Shah depressurized the plane, causing the passengers to suffer hypoxia, then lowered the plane to 3,000 feet and then parachuted out to meet his mistress in a boat, while the jet continued on unguided to crash somewhere in the ocean.

There is also another theory wonders if Captain Shah was depressed leading up to the flight and suicidally crashed the plane.

A separate theory has to do with Captain Shah being angry over the arrest of his relative, Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, who was convicted of sodomy just one day before Flight MH370’s disappearance.

Unfortunately, almost nine years later, we still don’t know if any of these theories are the truth.
