To celebrate the release of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One on digital platforms this week, Paramount Pictures has shared an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip with us — one of the film’s many bonus features included with its at-home release — of the legendary Tom Cruise training for the showstopping speed-flying stunt that’s featured in the film.

According to director Christopher McQuarrie, Cruise trained for *three years* to pull off the stunt “as precisely as humanly possible,” which utilizes a sport that Cruise previously called “one of the most dangerous in the world.”

“What we’re doing now, is, I’m basically training on various parts of the mountain,” Cruise says as the clip begins.

“Just constantly trying to increase my skills, working on different techniques for wing control, it’s a very challenging sport,” Cruise says. “Everything I do, I train, train, train, train, train, train.”

In addition to Cruise, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Hayley Atwell, Shea Whigham, Pom Klementieff, Esai Morales, Rob Delaney, Henry Czerny, and Cary Elwes.

At this time, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two is currently scheduled to hit movie theaters in the United States next summer on Friday, June 28, 2024.

From Paramount Home Entertainment, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – DEAD RECKONING PART One will be available to purchase on Digital 10/10. All bonus features will be available with a digital purchase. The blockbuster hit will debut on 4K Ultra HD SteelBook™, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray™, and DVD on October 31st.
