Using the first half of its season to set the stage, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier finally committed to its endgame in Episode 4, “The Whole World Is Watching”.

Warning: spoilers for the latest episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, “The Whole World Is Watching”, will follow.

After taking the super-soldier serum and losing his best friend Lemar Hoskins (a.k.a Battlestar) in a fight against the Flag Smashers, John Walker — the new Captain America — went full berserker mode on one of the terrorists, using his shield to violently murder the dude in broad daylight, confirming his transition into a villain.

Now that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has firmly decided what kind of character John Walker is, the series will be a full-blown sprint to the finish line.

That two-episode sprint is set to begin on Friday with the release of Episode 5, which will reportedly feature a cameo from a massive Marvel character — a character that’s yet to be introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is reportedly being played by a “very well-known actor.”

/Film can confirm that this surprise character is not one that we’ve seen in the MCU before and not one who is primed to appear in an upcoming film. However, we have learned it is an existing Marvel Comics character who is played by a well-known performer. And this guest star must have knocked it out of the park for [Malcolm] Spellman to hype up this upcoming episode so much.

“Hands down, [episode] five, it just gets real,” Spellman had said in an interview with ComicBook. “And five, you’re going to cry.”

“There are characters in our series who I would love to see partnered with like — it’s a very, very grounded character — partnered with one of the big world-shakers like Thor or someone like that. The personality is so strong, it’s the episode five character. I’d love to see that character with Thor.” [via /Film]

Following the reveal of Ayo at the end of Episode 3, some Marvel fans began theorizing that Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa would appear in the series. However, that rumor has largely been dispelled, meaning we’ll just have to wait until Friday to find out.
