On Wednesday evening, the first 40 court documents from the civil lawsuit brought against Jeffrey Epstein’s former confidante Ghislaine Maxwell in 2017 were unsealed.

The documents from the lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre contained 934 pages and included several famous names, including former Presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton.

The lawsuit, which was settled in 2017, had been kept sealed until an order was given by Judge Loretta Preska in December after she determined there wasn’t any legal justification for keeping the names redacted.

Both Trump and Clinton are named multiple times in the unsealed documents – Clinton at least 73 times, as was Prince Andrew, whose name appeared 67 times.

Many of the famous names that appear in the documents come from a deposition given by alleged victim Johanna Sjoberg when she was asked if she had ever met any famous people through her association with Jeffrey Epstein.

Names such as George Lucas, Alan Dershowitz, Michael Jackson, Pope John Paul II, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Richardson, Al Gore, Stephen Hawking, Kevin Spacey, Naomi Campbell, Cate Blanchett, Leonardo DiCaprio, Bruce Willis, and Cameron Diaz all appeared in the documents, but none of them were accused of any wrongdoing.

Sjoberg testified that while she had never met most, if not all of those people, Epstein would name-drop them during his “massages.”

“When I spoke about them, it was when I was massaging him, and he would get off -– he would be on the phone a lot at that time, and one time he said, ‘Oh, that was Leonardo, or, That was Cate Blanchett, or Bruce Willis’. That kind of thing,” she said.

One name, however, that of famous magician David Copperfield, appeared six times in the documents.

At one point in documents from Sjoberg’s deposition, it read: “David Copperfield was at a dinner at Epstein’s and there was another girl present who looked young and Johanna [Sjoberg] asked what school she went to and Johanna did not recognize the school name as being a college and she said it was possible it was a high school-aged girl.

“Johanna said Copperfield ‘questioned me if I was aware that girls were getting paid to find other girls.’”

Johanna Sjoberg also testified that Jeffrey Epstein spoke to her about former President Bill Clinton.

“He said one time that Clinton likes them young, referring to girls,” she claimed.
