A 4th of July fireworks accident wreaked chaos in Alabama.

Video captured a scary moment during a 4th of July celebration in Alabama involving a fireworks accident that sent onlookers running for cover. It was one of a number of fireworks-related incidents seen over the holiday weekend.

No one appeared to be harmed in this particular instance, which showed sparks chaotically flying towards a family’s home.

Fireworks are an awesome way to celebrate Independence Day. No one does it quite like the U-S-of-A. With that said, things can go south in an instant. Jubilation can turn to fright, as experienced by this group firsthand.

4th of July mishap produces scare.

Instagram user @TatumAlyn posted the clip to social media on the 5th of July. “Is it even July 4th if my father doesn’t almost kill us all?” a caption jokingly read.

In the 46-second video, her father is seen lighting fireworks outside the home in Alabama. The first few went off without a hitch. The force of the initial blasts sent the case toppling from its platform.

As a result, the second half of the show was more chaos than enjoyment. Sparks first shot towards nearby trees. The fireworks then set aim at the front porch where the family was gathered.

Onlookers scurried for the front door as the house was bombarded with an unexpected light show. It does not appear that there were any injuries.

Fireworks accidents provide July 4th lowlight.

It’s something that happens annually, unfortunately. A 2026 montage can be found HERE. Some cases are a result of mixing booze and fireworks. Others occur due to malfunction or poor planning.

In either case, they can quickly turn entertainment into disaster.

Even the pros can fall victim to the mishaps. Look no further than New York’s fireworks show that lit a fire on the Brooklyn Bridge.

The folks in Alabama were able to shake off their scare given everyone walked away safely. The footage has since gone viral on social media.

Many got a laugh from the close call. Others took the opportunity to speak on firework safety in the comments section. Hopefully, next year’s celebration goes a bit more smoothly.
