The first trailer for the upcoming HBO original series Watchmen has been released and it looks like it is going to be a must-watch (pun intended).

As we reported last August when a short teaser came out, it was suggested that a Watchmen show will air at some point in 2019. Now, thanks to this new trailer, we know that to be 100 percent the case.

The series will reportedly feature a new plot, different from that seen in the 2009 Zach Snyder film which received extremely mixed reviews.

This new Watchmen series by HBO will be a new, modern-day reimagining of Alan Moore’s graphic novel about masked vigilantes published by DC Comics in 1986 and 1987.

“Set in an alternate history where ‘superheroes’ are treated as outlaws, this drama series from executive producer Damon Lindelof embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name while attempting to break new ground of its own.”
