first look at 'Dig' trailer starring Hugh Laurie and Amy Poehler from Michael Schur
Writer, producer, and creator Michael Schur who is the genius mastermind behind The Good Place, Parks and Recreation, The Office, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and plenty more has just debuted the first trailer for his next project. Dig will star Amy Poehler, who is also a co-creator, on an archaeological dig in Greece and she will be accompanied by an all-star cast.
The Peacock Original series is set to premiere on November 23rd, streaming on NBC’s Peacock, and the initial feedback from the trailer (below) is phenomenal.
First Trailer For ‘Dig’ — Amy Poehler Stars In Michael Schur’s Latest Hit
For many TV lovers, it is hard to believe one man can be behind so many incredible projects. Michael Schur was a writer on 124 episodes of Parks and Rec (co-creator), 50 episodes of The Good Place, (creator) 153 episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine (co-creator), 128 episodes of Saturday Night Live, and most recently 47 episodes of Hacks on HBO. He is also a producer on most of those shows.
Some familiar faces from the Michael Schur universe will appear in Dig, namely Amy Poehler who was the face of Parks and Recreation.
Other stars include Jason Mantzoukas who was in The Good Place and Parks and Rec, Max Greenfield from New Girl, Geraldine Viswanathan from Blockers, and Emmy Award winning actor Hugh Laurie whose credits and list of accolades is too long to even scratch the surface of here. I’ll just add that he crushed the role of Dr. Cockroach Ph.D. in Monsters vs Aliens back in 2010…
According to a report in People, the new show was picked up by Peacock Originals for a 10-episode first season. The working tagline for the show is “Follows four women at an archaeological dig in Greece, each facing different life challenges. When they discover a buried secret that could change history, they become entangled in a dangerous international conspiracy.”
Amy Poehler is listed as a co-creator on this project alongside Michael Schur according to the exclusive from People.
Dropping a 2m34s trailer right out of the gate bodes well for the show. It is enough time to get a sense of the show’s rhythm and the character’s quirks. And with lots of big personalities it barely scratches the surface but still gives us viewers a sense of where this Amy Poehler-Michael Schur project is headed.
