Last Episode Of ‘Game Of Thrones’ May Have Shown A BIG Character Coming Back From The Dead

Sansa Stark Littlefinger Game of Thrones

HBO

Spoilers ahead, but you already knew that. Despite being the shortest episode of the entire series, Episode 4 of Season 7 had so many important plotlines going down. But with the emotional return of Arya Stark to Winterfell and all of the edge-of-your-seat action, you may have missed yet another Stark homecoming to Winterfell.

This fan theory comes with some visual evidence to support their hypothesis. Eagle-eyed “GoT” addicts noticed that during the memorable sword training session between Arya and Brienne of Tarth in “The Spoils of War” episode there was a woman in the background that looks very familiar. The mysterious woman walking around Winterfell looks a lot like Catelyn Stark. The peculiar woman has the same hair as Catelyn and is wearing an elegant green dress much like she did. What poor person in Winterfell could afford such a fancy dress? One problem, Lady Catelyn was murdered during the Red Wedding when she had her throat slit.

The unknown figure walks behind Arya at the 12-second mark of the video and then reappears in the background at the one-minute mark while walking the same direction. How did she walk around the entire perimeter of Winterfell in less than a minute? Is this a continuity mistake by the producers? Could be, but they do a very solid job of not making these kinds of errors.

Game of Thrones” loves their resurrections as seen with Jon Snow, Beric Dondarrion, and the White Walkers. Catelyn coming back from the dead would follow a plotline from the books. George R.R. Martin resurrected Catelyn as a zombie killing machine named Lady Stoneheart, who can barely speak properly because she had her throat was cut.

In the books, Catelyn’s cadaver is thrown into a nearby river. The direwolf Nymeria pulls her out and drags her to the Brotherhood Without Banners. Catelyn is resurrected by Beric but she is not her original self, she is an undead corpse hell-bent on killing anyone associated with the murder of her son Robb. Is this mysterious woman Lady Stoneheart, the ghost of Catelyn Stark, or just an insignificant mistake that means absolutely nothing?
