The mother of George Floyd’s daughter has filed a $250M lawsuit against Kanye West for comments the rapper made about Floyd’s death.
In a recent appearance on the Drink Champs podcast, Kanye West said, “They hit [Floyd] with the fentanyl. If you look, the guy’s knee wasn’t even on his neck like that. But he said ‘mama,’ mama was his girlfriend. They said he screamed for his mama. Mama was his girlfriend. It’s in the documentary.”

West was referring to Candace Owens’ documentary The Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the Rise of BLM.
On Tuesday, it was announced that Roxie Washington, the mother of Gianna Floyd, George Floyd’s daughter (the sole beneficiary of Floyd’s estate), had retained the Witherspoon Law Group and Dixon & Dixon Attorneys at Law and they are filing a $250 million lawsuit against Kanye West.
The attorneys issued a cease-and-desist letter to West claiming he made “false statements about George Floyd’s death to promote his brands, and increase marketing value and revenue for himself, his business partners, and associates.”

There are no legal grounds to sue someone for defamation of a deceased person, but attorney Nuru Witherspoon said, “The interests of the child are priority. George Floyd’s daughter is being retraumatized by Kanye West’s comments and he’s creating an unsafe and unhealthy environment for her.”
Attorney Pat D. Dixon III added, “Kanye’s comments are repugnant to discount George Floyd’s life and to profit from his inhumane death. We will hold Mr. West accountable for his flagrant remarks against Mr. Floyd’s legacy.”

In addition to now having to pay legal fees to defend himself in this new lawsuit, Kanye West recently “hired two new big-time lawyers” as he has finally started the process of finalizing his divorce from Kim Kardashian, according to RadarOnline.com.
TMZ also recently reported that West is blowing “through his money like it’s water,” according to a former friend of Kanye.
