Georgia Flight Attendant Walks Up To Delta Sky Club Member. Then He Has A Strange Request: ‘We Were Already In The Air’

Most passengers who realize they left something behind at the airport have little choice but to deal with it when they land. One Delta traveler apparently had another idea: turn the plane around.

Georgia flight attendant Savannah (@savannah0191) regularly shares stories from her life in the friendly skies, and one recent video showcased some of the stranger requests she’s gotten from passengers. Chief among them was a man who realized, after the plane was already in the air, that he had left his laptop behind in a Delta Sky Club.

“I had a guy ask if we could go back to the gate because he forgot his laptop in the Sky Club,” Savannah says.

It’s an audacious request, but planes have turned around over passenger-related incidents before, though usually for reasons far more serious than a forgotten laptop.

In 2023, an American Airlines plane halted its journey after a traveler referred to a flight attendant as a waiter. Reportedly, the air commuter in question, Joel Ghansham, was engaging in disruptive behavior. It’s a depiction Ghansham refuted as he shared his account of events (he was ultimately awarded 10,000 miles for his troubles).

Delta Flight Attendant Shares More Passenger Stories

Savannah went on to share other encounters she had with passengers. Neither of which culminated in any of the high drama as the aforementioned American Airlines encounter.

Her next story involves an older woman who had a strong reaction when prompted to detail her beverage preferences. The conversation landed the attendant in an embarrassing predicament, with other passengers feeling as if she’d slighted the woman in question.

“An elderly lady asked for coffee, and I said cream and sugar? She said heck no! As loud as she possibly could. And multiple people looked at me and multiple people asked if I was bothering her.”

But not all of her stories were awkward. She shared a more heartwarming exchange with a young girl who wanted to be a flight attendant herself.

“Had a little kid playing with the flight attendant call button. And I asked the parent very nicely, very gently, hey, let’s not ring that unless we like need something. If you need something, I’m here for you. But let’s not ring that because sometimes there are emergencies.”

“This little girl walks on with flight attendant wings on her shirt. I said, ‘I love your wings.’ She said, ‘Thank you, the older lady gave it to me. When can I get my name on it like you?’ I said, ‘You’ve got to go to training to have your name on it.’ She’s like, ‘Can I go to training right now?’ I said, ‘Oh, you have to be at least 21 to go to training.’ She said, ‘Okay, Mom, when will I be 21? Because I really wanna work with this lady with the curly hair.'”

Unruly Passengers Can Face Serious Consequences

Unfortunately, it appears that poor passenger behavior is a growing problem in the consumer aviation space. In August of 2026, two fliers on an Alaska Airlines flight from Miami to Seattle “allegedly threatened to take over the plane,” according to Newsradio 1180, prompting the guests to be hit with a temporary ban from the airline.

According to the FAA, there have been over 1,000 cases of disorderly conduct from passengers in the first 8 months of 2026. And with holiday travel season coming up, it’s safe to assume there are a lot more on the horizon for those in the flight business.

When it comes to acting a fool in airports and airplanes: don’t do it. You could get landed on the FAA’s s**t-list, and be slapped with a $43,658 fine per transgression. Not to mention, you could lose TSA Pre-Check privileges from the FAA.

Additionally, airlines could temporarily or permanently ban you, reducing your airline travel options.

Besides, who wants to be escorted out of an airplane in handcuffs and ruin everyone else’s travel plans?
