Last week, Melanie Brown, aka Mel B, aka Scary Spice, revealed that she hooked up with her fellow Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, aka Ginger Spice, in the mid-nineties.

Back in that time period there were rumors that Brown and Halliwell had hooked up, and the fires were fanned even further when Halliwell admitted to Howard Stern in 2003 that she had “lesbian sex once” with a bandmate, but could “never say who it was.”

Now married to Christian Horner, the Team Principal of the Red Bull Racing Formula One team, and the mother of two kids, Halliwell has flat-out denied Brown’s claim of a sexual encounter between the two of them.

In a statement on Monday, Halliwell’s spokesman Alan Edwards told USA TODAY, “She would like you to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family,” noting, “It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumors again.”

He added, “Geri can’t wait to see the girls and all the fans on the tour, have an amazing time with everyone, and make some new memories.”

Oh, you didn’t know that the Spice Girls were reuniting (sans Victoria Beckham) and going on tour again this year? I’m sure the timing of this “scandal” and the tour is completely a coincidence.

In a statement issued to MailOnline on Sunday, Geri reiterated her love for all four of her former bandmates and shared how much she was looking forward to touring with Mel B, 43, Mel C, 45, and Emma Bunton, 43, later this year.

An official comment reads: ‘It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumours again, especially on Mother’s Day of all days.

‘Geri loves the Spice Girls: Emma, Melanie, Melanie and Victoria [Beckham]. She would like [the fans] to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family.

‘Moving forward, Geri can’t wait to see the girls and all the fans on the tour, have an amazing time with everyone, and make some new memories.’

Yep, totally a coincidence.
