Woman Goes To Gordon Ramsay’s Restaurant In London—And Catches Guest’s Dog Using The Bathroom Inside: ‘Manager Said It’s Fine’

Based on his TV career, Gordon Ramsay is very vocal about other restaurants. But after witnessing a dog on a pee pad inside his own restaurant, Street Pizza, in Battersea, London, England, one customer was left gobsmacked.

Gordon Ramsay is known for his high standards. He has three golden rules on what to order in restaurants and is known for insulting eatery staff if they don’t align with this vision.

However, a new viral storm suggests that these standards may not apply to his own establishments.

Over the past few days, content creator Gizzelle Cade (@gizzellecade) has made several TikToks about her experience at Street Pizza, all of which have, cumulatively, garnered over 18 million views.

The first TikTok was filmed in the restaurant itself and showed a small Dachshund standing on a puppy toileting pad on the restaurant floor. Accompanying on-screen text read, “Reason #4 what to eat at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant… Dog is allowed to pee and [poop emoji] inside. Manager said it’s fine (we left).”

In the video description, Cade added, “Is this normal in London? Since when did dog friendly mean no hygiene at a restaurant? Not only did we notify management and leave but manager charged us full bill with 15% service charge… The two ladies with dogs continued to dine. Husband, baby, and myself left…”

Commenters React

Some commenters decided to take action. “Can this be reported to Food Hygiene Standards UK?” one asked.

“What was the name of the restaurant?” a second wrote. “I wanna make a complaint to the Food Standard Agency?”

Similarly, a third added, “It’s not hygienic you could sue them for that.”

However, a fourth seemed less bothered, and chimed in with, “I get it but I mean I don’t plan on eating off the floor anytime soon so I don’t thank I would react at all to be honest.”

Did Gordon Ramsay Respond?

Several commenters also alleged that Ramsay had reacted to this TikTok in a since-deleted video. The video, which is circulating on Reddit, appears to be from his personal TikTok account.

The footage begins with Cade’s first TikTok overlaid with text reading, “Let’s get one thing clear—this dog did nothing in the restaurant and we pride ourselves on being dog-friendly.”

The video then cut to footage of what appeared to be Ramsay’s dog Bruno wearing a diaper. A male voice off-camera then says, “Hey Gemini, can this dog come to Street Pizza tomorrow night, please, for supper? Bruno?” The man then pans the camera to Tilly Ramsay and asks, “Tilly, what do you think?”

A Warning

In her second clip, Cade warned diners to not go to Ramsay’s Street Pizza restaurant, claiming that she saw the dog urinate and defecate in the establishment. She also claimed that when she warned the lady who worked there, she didn’t do anything. Cade alleged the manager was there the entire time and also did nothing.

On-screen text read, “Dear Gordon Ramsay… This restaurant is Hell’s Kitchen.”

Cade went on to add in the third TikTok that the restaurant charged the full 15% service charge on top of their actual bill. She claimed that, after a back and forth, the manager removed the service charge, meaning they still ended up paying the bill itself.

“This is unacceptable,” she said. “It’s not acceptable in London. It’s not acceptable anywhere in the world. This is… its robbery.”

She added, “Gordon Ramsey is known for running his restaurants and his kitchens a certain way, and that was not there that night.”

Creator Claps Back At TMZ

The fourth TikTok was made in response to a TMZ article about the incident. TMZ reported that it spoke to an eyewitness about the incident. According to this eyewitness, the dog didn’t relieve itself at all and was merely sitting on the mat. The eyewitness also claimed that Cade said dogs shouldn’t be allowed at restaurants. Allegedly, Cade also asked to move tables. This eyewitness says the matter was settled when the family moved tables.

In this TikTok, Cade said the article was “factually incorrect.” She then proceeded to give a more detailed account of the incident.

According to Cade, two women walked in with a dog in a bassinet baby stroller. The dog was, per Cade, licking the table from the moment they walked in.

Cade said that in less than five minutes, one of the women put the pad on the floor and encouraged the dog to relieve itself.

When she asked what the woman was doing and said this was unsanitary, the TikToker claimed that the customer repeatedly compared the dog to her newborn baby due to apparently similar toilet habits.

What Did The Manager Say?

Cade also directly debunked TMZ’s claim that they demanded to move tables. In actuality, she said they demanded that the service charge be removed and the manager address the patron. The TikTok then cut to a video of the purported manager from the restaurant. In this clip, the manager says they can’t control animals. Cade responded that she wanted him to remove the service charge.

The video then cut back to Cade talking. She reiterated that she said they weren’t paying for the service charge. Apart from that, she said they paid the full bill. She said that no discount was given and that no discount was asked for. The TikToker also claimed that nobody apologized to her and that nobody cleaned the area while she was there.

“When you go to a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, at minimum you expect basic customer care, basic hygiene,” she said. “Those are the two things you expect at minimum. My feeling is none of that was there at night.”

As a final note, Cade said that TMZ never reached out to her.

What Happened In The End?

In her fifth video, Cade showed viewers a screenshot purported to be from Gordon Ramsay’s website. The screenshot said that dogs are welcome “outside only” in the Battersea restaurant where she ate. At the time of writing, this is consistent with what’s on the website.

The on-screen text said, “Gordon Ramsay broke its own ‘no pets’ rule… More receipts!”

The creator also said that management didn’t ask the patrons to leave and reiterated that they didn’t clean up the relevant area while she was there. She also repeated that she didn’t ask for a discount and management didn’t apologize. At the time of the video, Cade also said that she hadn’t heard from Gordon or anyone else.

Ending the fifth video, Cade repeated that nobody addressed the dog owner and that there weren’t any repercussions.

Her sixth video was in response to a commenter who suggested it might have been a service dog. Cade debunked this claim, said the dog wasn’t toilet-trained and reiterated the policy from the website.

The on-screen caption on this video read, “On no planet was it a service dog… Gordon Ramsay knows this, that’s why he was laughing.”

Most recently, Cade has shared two further TikToks. In her seventh video, she shared a screen recording that depicted Gordon “stitching” Cade’s clip with the aforementioned video. She also shared a screenshot of what appeared to be a comment on her original video by Gordon. The image showed Bruno in a diaper with the response, “Street Pizza Pampers coming to stores near you soon.”

“To stitch my TikTok video with a video with a dog, laughing about it, is beyond appalling,” she said. “I will never go to another Gordon Ramsey restaurant as long as I live, and I will not recommend it to anybody else either.”

She then went on to reiterate the website’s dog policy.

“I don’t want to sit next to a wee wee pad when I’m having a dinner, and I most definitely don’t wanna sit next to a wee wee pad when I’m with my newborn son while having dinner,” she said.

The video then cut to what appears to be footage from one of Gordon’s reality shows, where he is talking to someone who complained about a “dog friendly” policy and said they didn’t want a dog in the same room while they’re eating. Gordon appears to agree, saying it was “disgusting.”

In her final video, she shared footage of the puppy pad accompanied by jazz music as part of “the saxophone gets louder” trend.

Cade Shared Her Thoughts

In an email exchange with BroBible, Cade elaborated on her side of the story. “I posted the video because I felt the situation was handled poorly and I wanted to share my experience,” she said. “At first, I actually thought I was helping Gordon’s brand, because in my head there was no way something like this could be happening without him knowing about it. Looking back now, I feel like it’s more systematic, and he likely has some influence over how things are run.”

She went on to add that she “wasn’t expecting” the video to get this level of attention and revealed that the overall reception of the video was “mixed.”

“A lot of people have been incredibly supportive and have shared similar experiences, while others have had very strong opinions from the other side as well,” Cade added. “After the alleged post-and-delete video, the hate from his supporters definitely intensified. I’m so very grateful TikTok has comment filters.”

“Overall, though, it sparked a much larger conversation that’s bigger than me on non-service animals in public places, hygiene, and health standards. The fact that I could help facilitate that conversation is honestly amazing to me.”

Regarding Gordon’s alleged TikTok response and comment, Cade said, “Seeing them laugh at a situation that genuinely upset me was hurtful.” She later said that “people call it ‘trolling,’ but for me, it didn’t feel funny at all.”

“I remember opening TikTok shortly afterward and crying because the backlash intensified almost immediately,” she shared. “The hostility from his fans definitely multiplied after that and seemed to fuel even more negativity toward me.”

She continued: “The best way I can describe it is that it felt like watching someone you looked up to bully you for asking them to adhere to a standard they themselves set. The Gordon Ramsay I grew up watching would never have allowed a restaurant owner to respond like that. His entire brand was built around elevating the customer experience, so seeing him react that way in real time honestly felt like watching your superhero become the villain. It’s actually really sad.”

Finally, she added that the restaurant “should have adhered to their own policy.”

“I was there with my newborn, and I always check restaurant policies beforehand to make sure the environment is appropriate for [my newborn’s] fragile immune system,” she explained. “I would not have chosen that restaurant if I had known dogs were allowed inside, especially with pee pads involved.”

Cade confirmed that, at the time of writing, Gordon and the restaurant team haven’t reached out to her. She also said that nothing else has happened as of yet.
