Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Getting a hotel on February 14th is a pretty common way for couples to celebrate the lovely holiday. I’ve done it in years past. I’d recommend it as long as you’re willing to shell out some $$$ for a decent room because there’s nothing romantic about staying in a cheap hotel room.

I’d never heard of the Hotel Zed in Vancouver until this morning but they’re running a pretty wild promo for Valentine’s Day this year. They are offering up a free hotel room on Valentine’s Day, for the next 18 years, to anyone who stays at their hotel on Valentine’s Day 2020 and makes a baby.

To be clear, they don’t even need you to stay overnight. They’re offering up 10am-to-2pm slots for couples to check-in, bump uglies, conceive a child, and check out before dinner. Then, if the baby’s born 9 months later those couples will receive a free hotel room for the next 18 years.

The Peninsula News Review has the story:

Couples who rent a hotel room from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., make love and welcome a baby into the world nine months later will get a free Valentine’s Day stay at any Hotel Zed location in B.C. for the next 18 years.

“Let’s be real, Valentine’s Day was made for getting lucky (at least that’s the way Hotel Zed sees it),” read a press release issued by Hotel Zed.

Hotel Zed said anyone is welcome to take advantage of the deal regardless of gender expression, gender identity, and sexual orientation. As long as a new child is welcomed into the family nine months after Valentine’s Day 2020 check-in, they can count on 18 more years of free Hotel Zed accommodations.

“I never want to get a lame Valentine’s gift,” said Mandy Farmer, president and CEO of Hotel Zed.

“We created the Nooner to offer a Valentine’s Day to remember. With the added possibility of a free stay for the next 18 years, a romantic Valentine’s night on us might become a new annual tradition for lucky couples this year. Definitely beats a stale box of chocolate or another flower bouquet.”

I feel like we’re really glossing over the whole baby aspect of this ‘nooner’ promo. Sure, you get a free hotel room once a year for 18 years but you now have a baby and babies are expensive AF.

Room rates at the Hotel Zed for the 4-hour ‘Nooner’ are $59. You can click here to visit the Hotel Zed’s website for a full rundown of what you get with the nooner and/or book a room yourself if you’re interested in that.
