Woman Cuts The Drive-Thru Line At In-N-Out. Then The Woman In Front Of Her Gets Even On Everyone’s Behalf: ‘Public Shaming Is So Back’

A Dallas, Texas woman waited patiently in the drive-thru line at In-N-Out when she noticed another car cut in line behind her. She conspired with the drive-thru workers to get back at the impatient customer with a clever prank.

In a video with over 8 million views, TikToker Mary Reiley (@merrrrrb) pulls up to the drive-thru window to snitch on the car behind her. She asks what the woman ordered and offers to pay for it. But she’s not trying to start a pay-it-forward chain.

“If I pay for it, will they give it to me up there?” she asks. The worker says, “I think they would” and agrees to participate in the prank.

Reiley pays for the woman’s meal and pulls up to the second window. The workers giggle as they participate in her prank, handing her both orders.

“Hopefully that teaches her not to cut the long line,” Reiley says as she pulls away.

She looks back to see the woman’s reaction to not receiving her order. Reiley says, “I’m actually so dead. She’s pissed! Bye, b—-. That’s what you get for cutting the entire line.”

The caption reads, “I could not believe this girl cut like 10 cars. nope sister you’re gonna learn today.”

Should Workers Intervene With Drive-Thru Line Cutting?

In the r/innout subreddit, another customer recounted a similar experience with someone cutting them in line. They questioned whether a manager or drive-thru workers should step in.

One In-N-Out worker said they aren’t allowed to directly intervene for safety reasons. They wrote, “Unfortunately policy at my store tells us to not get involved with those cutting in line as we’ve had people pull guns on associates for telling them they cut in line and need to back out.”

However, others said they confront customers who cut the drive-thru line.

“The rules say we can’t do anything but I always politely ask them to go to the end of the line,” one commented. “If they get mad at me for making them move I just explain to them they’re upsetting the people behind them, and it’s only fair to the other customers that the cutter moves.”

“Call that d—head out on it, so sick of these kind of people, no respect for anyone in line,” a second remarked.

BroBible previously reported that some In-N-Out workers have a special way of dealing with line cutters. They have them pull past the second window after they pay and take extra long to make their order. This basically makes them wait as long as if they’d waited properly.

Viewers React To The Clever In-N-Out Prank

Commenters couldn’t believe Reiley’s viral prank worked, praising her for getting back at the impatient customer.

OMG. You are a queen! For those who don’t understand. In n out lines can take 30-40 minutes and can be like 30+ cars long,” a viewer explained.

Another joked, “Public shaming is so back, love to see it.”

Others said they plan to use the same trick next time someone cuts the line.

I did NOT know this was an option. storing for later,” one remarked.

“Wait i didn’t realize you could basically ‘steal’ the person behind you’s order if you pay for it,” another said.
