The first trailer for the 18th season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has been released. S18 of It’s Always Sunny is set to premiere on August 17.
With every season since its 15th, It’s Always Sunny has been making history, as it’s now the longest-running American live-action sitcom in terms of total seasons, having surpassed The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet in December 2021. Its total now stands at a historic 18 seasons since premiering in 2005.

It’s Always Sunny‘s upcoming 18th season expands from the recent eight-episode format to ten episodes, making it the largest batch of episodes since Season 14 in 2019.
“The only thing generated is more chaos,” FX wrote in the description of the trailer, referencing the fake AI poster that the series dropped earlier this month.
“Charlie, Mac, Dennis, Dee and Frank are more out of control than ever, taking on inheritances, automation, conspiracy theories, sobriety’s cultural swing and chaos at Paddy’s. With outrageous moments, star cameos, and Philly nods, The Gang proves age hasn’t brought wisdom.”
Earlier this year, leaks/rumors — which, based on the footage shown in the trailer, seem to have been correct — suggested that the ten episodes of S18 would be titled:
“2026: A Virtual Insanity”
“Dennis & Dee Don’t Get Rich”
“Frank Marries A Corpse”
“Gilligan’s Island: A Conspiracy Theorist’s Paradise”
“Mac and Dennis Tear Their ACLs”
“The Gang Buys a Baseball Team”
“The Gang Gets Tested”
“The Gang Goes to the Ren Faire”
“The Guys Have a Sleepover”
“The War on Alcohol.”
It’s Always Sunny generated headlines earlier this month with the release of its Season 18 poster (featured above), which depicted the gang as beer tap handles and sparked a debate about whether it was made with AI. That graphic, however, turned out to be the work of a human artist deliberately mimicking the smooth, uncanny aesthetic of AI-generated images.

The 18th season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia will premiere on FXX on Monday, August 17 at 9 p.m. EST. You can stream the previous 17 seasons — bar five controversial episodes that have been scrubbed due to the use of blackface — on Hulu and Disney+.
