Avengers star Jeremy Renner suffered a scary snowplow incident over the weekend that resulted in the two-time Oscar nominee reportedly suffering a significant amount of blood loss. According to reports, Renner’s leg was run over by his snowplow at his Nevada home on New Year’s Day.

In an official statement, his family confirmed that the 51-year-old suffered from “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries” and had to undergo surgery. At this time, Renner is reportedly in critical but stable condition.

“We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2, 2023. He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition,” the official statement reads.

“Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families. They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”

Renner, who began his film career in earnest in the early 2000s with roles in films such as S.W.A.T. and Lords of Dogtown, ascended to Hollywood’s A-list following an Academy Award-nominated turn in The Hurt Locker.

From there, Renner would go on to star in projects such as The Town, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, American Hustle, and most notably, as Hawkeye/Clint Barton in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Most recently, Renner has been starring in the Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown, which will see its second season premiere on Sunday, January 15.

Our thoughts are with Renner and his family as he recovers from this accident.
