Two years ago, the pop culture world was stunned when the usually reclusive Johnny Depp decided to join social media with a post on his very own Instagram account.
Back then, he posted an eight minute video of himself in what appeared to be some sort of cave.
This week, after his riveting victory in the court battle versus his ex-wife Amber Heard, the 58-year-old Depp decided to do what all the cool kids are doing these days and join TikTok.
Johnny Depp’s first video on TikTok was a thank you to his fans
“To all of my most treasured, loyal and unwavering supporters,” Depp wrote in the TikTok video’s description. “We’ve been everywhere together, we have seen everything together. We have walked the same road together. We did the right thing together, all because you cared. And now, we will all move forward together. You are, as always, my employers and once again I am whittled down to no way to say thank you, other than just by saying thank you. So, thank you. My love & respect, JD.”
The video, set to the reggae sound of “Stranger” by Love Joys, itself features Depp waving to his fans, many of whom camped out and spent as much as $30,000 to be at his trial and threw gifts at him as he left court, Depp typing on an old timey typewriter, and playing his guitar on stage with his pal Jeff Beck.

First, Instagram, then NFTs, and now TikTok? What’s next for Johnny Depp? Shilling for a cryptocurrency company?
Perhaps.
After all, somebody has to pay for all those $60,000 dinners.
