For better or for worse, one of the signs of a healthy Hollywood career these days is having a part in a big-budget franchise, particularly a superhero series and especially one in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

And thanks to a wholly scene-stealing and potentially Oscar-winning performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once, that’s now where Ke Huy Quan finds himself.

During a recent interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the award-season favorite revealed that Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige personally called him to invite him to join the cast of Loki season two.

“When our movie came out, the first phone call I got was from Kevin Feige, who graciously asked me if I wanted to join the MCU. And I called Jonathan and the gang, and I said, you know what, nobody wants to hire me except Stephen Spielberg, George Lucas, The Daniels, and Kevin Feige. It’s been incredible. 2022 is the year I will always remember because it’s one of the happiest years of my life.” [via Happy Sad Confused]

Ke Huy Quan, who won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor earlier this week, is beginning to look like the favorite to take home the prize for Best Supporting Actor at the Academy Awards in March, too.

While season two of Loki does not have an official release date at this time, Marvel Studios has confirmed that it will hit Disney+ sometime this year.

As for the Academy Awards, which will surely see Everything Everywhere All At Once contend for many of the major honors, they will be held on Sunday, March 12.
