Lil Wayne left his fans hanging by bailing on a concert in Maine

Lil Wayne left a bunch of his fans high and dry as he bailed on a scheduled concert in Maine. Wayne was scheduled to perform at the Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor, Maine on Tuesday, June 30 but did not show up to the event.

Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., better known by his stage name Lil Wayne, was set to perform in Bangor on Tuesday alongside fellow rapper 2 Chainz as part of their “Lil Wayne: 20 Years of Carter Classics with 2 Chainz” tour.

Lil Wayne did not turn up to a scheduled concert in Bangor, Maine that was struggling to sell tickets

Just minutes before Weezy was set to take the stage at 10:45 p.m. EST, however, it was announced that he would not be coming to the stage, according to TMZ.

“No explanation was offered … and fans lit Weezy up on social media for being rude and disrespectful to his fans — noting this isn’t the first time he bailed on a show. Prior to last night, the most recent no-show was in August 2025, when he canceled a Toronto performance after fans were already packed in to the venue.”

A viral post on X/Twitter showed that the event was struggling to sell tickets, suggesting that could have contributed to why Wayne bailed on the event.

Wayne was one of the most popular rappers in the world in the 2000s and 2010s but no longer maintains the cultural relevance he had then. His most recent album, 2025’s Tha Carter VI, was Wayne’s first studio album since 2020’s Funeral and was met with largely negative reviews by fans and critics.

The next stop on the “Lil Wayne: 20 Years of Carter Classics with 2 Chainz” tour is set to be at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, New York on Thursday, July 2. At this time, there has been no word from Wayne’s team on whether that event is set to continue as planned.
