Listen To Drake’s ‘Behind Barz’ Freestyle That Takes A Thinly-Veiled Jab At Kanye

Drake isn’t taking any days off after his 25-song double album Scorpion set a new streaming record with 745.9 million audio streams in the United States alone during its first week and hit 1 billion streams globally.

The 31-year-old Canadian rapper popped by London’s Link Up TV to spit a freestyle in conjunction with its Behind Barz series. In the 3-minute freestyle, Drake takes a thinly-veiled shot at Kanye.

“They wanna link when they got no chunes / They too worried about sellin’ out shoes / I don’t give a fuck about jeans or crap / Or going to Milan or going to the Met / I just wanna make these songs for the set.”

As Uproxx points out, Drake fires a couple jabs Kanye’s way in a couple tracks off Scorpion, namely “Emotionless” and “8 out of 10.” In the freestyle, Drake alludes to what J. Prince previously called “career-ending” info about Kanye they chose to keep private.

We came around and you showed us the most
I know so much shit that I cannot expose
I keep it inside and I laugh on my own
Got all the tea and I’m hottin’ it up
I need a shade mansion a room isn’t enough
You’re droppin’ some sh*t but that sh*t was a bust
They got no direction, they’re followin’ us

While Drake’s recent blowup with Pusha T has been the beef that’s making headlines, it’s important to take inventory on all the little jabs thrown between Drake and Kanye. Death by 1,000 cuts.
