There have been many disturbing TikTok trends over the past couple of years, but not many of them have involved combined two foods that have absolutely no business being mated together like one of the latest TikTok trends of putting yellow mustard on watermelon.
Sounds disgusting, right? Right.
Not according to TikTok user @yayayayummy, who is significantly to blame for this culinary concoction.
“SOOO GOOD!! he captioned his TikTok video that’s now been viewed over 1.5 million times.
The “tangy, vinegary” yellow mustard, he claims, goes great with the watermelon’s “sweet juiciness.”

Yeah, no.
Unfortunately, after seeing this watermelon mustard trend on TikTok, pop star Lizzo decided to give it a shot and share with her 15.9 million followers, which means we will probably be inundated with even more abominable food combinations in the coming weeks.

In Lizzo’s TikTok video, which has been viewed over 22 million times, the 2019 Time magazine Entertainer of the Year starts out with a clip of @yayayayummy ostensibly forcing Lizzo to give it a try.
After grabbing a watermelon out of her fridge and cutting it up, Lizzo tells her viewers, “Welcome to ‘is it buzzing or is it disgusting.'”
Her first bite left Lizzo a little bewildered (“I don’t understand”) so she squeezed on more mustard for a second taste.
“HUH?!” she shouts after bite number two, then adds more mustard for one more try. Then the video ends with her clearly being unimpressed with the unusual combo.

Lizzo says she ended up just eating the watermelon with Tajín, which actually sounds way better than eating it with mustard.
