The biggest night in Country Music was broadcast on Wednesday night, the 57th annual Country Music Awards (CMAs) and Post Malone joined Morgan Wallen and Hardy on stage for the start of something beautiful where they covered ‘Pickup Man’ and ‘John Deere Green’ by the late great Joe Diffie.

The ensemble performance began with Morgan Wallen and Hardy covering Joe Diffie’s iconic ‘John Deere Green’ before Post Malone joined the stage for ‘Pickup Man.’ The latter of which is now headed to the radio and the Post Malone x Morgan Wallen cover also includes original vocals from the late Joe Diffie who passed away in March 2022.

If that isn’t one of the best Country Music performances of the year then I don’t know what is. While there are sure to be some people resistant to Post Malone entering the Country Music charts he’ll surely win them over when they come around to see that he’s one of the nicest people across the entire Music industry.

WYRK radio personality and ‘Country Music chart insider’ Chris Owen was first to announce this performance wasn’t just a one-off but these songs are hitting Country Music radio as we speak.

The songs will appear on Hardy’s Hixtape Vol. 3: DIFFTAPE which is set to be released on March 29th of next year, according to WhiskeyRiff. They’ve appeared on Hardy’s Spotify ‘Hixtape’ already as the first two singles:

While there were a lot of folks who were bent out of shape after Morgan Wallen went winless in the ‘Big Three’ awards at the 57th CMTs, this performance was a nice consolation prize. Wallen was nominated for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. His album One Things At A Time was also nominated for Album of the Year. But he lost out to Lainey Wilson, Chris Stapleton, and Lainey Wilson again, respectively.

Austin Richard Post Malone has been on an absolute heater in 2023. He won an award from the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and his ‘Twelve Carat’ tour raked in nearly $100 million at the box office alone. Post also performed for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert where he absolutely crushed it:

And a few weeks later, Malone appeared as a guest on The Howard Stern Show where he covered ‘Them Bones’ by Alice in Chains.
