The last five installments of “Fast and Furious” have been released every two years, but that streak will end with the ninth chapter of the hit action series. “Fast and Furious 9″ was set to continue the two-year release interval, but delays have pushed the upcoming flick back a year. The ninth “Fast and Furious” had an April 19, 2019, release date, but has been pushed back a year to April 10, 2020. The release date remains to hit on an Easter weekend.

The new release date was announced on Wednesday, but Universal Pictures did not provide a reason for the year-long delay. In the place of “F&F 9,” Universal moved up “Trolls 2” two months from April 10, 2020, to Feb. 14, 2020. Since the first “Fast & Furious” debuted in 2001, the franchise has grossed more than $5 billion worldwide and eighth film, “The Fate of the Furious,” grossed $1.2 billion worldwide. So rest assured there will definitely be another “F&F” if not many, many more. The only problem will be keeping Vin Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in one piece to continue pumping out these money-printing flicks.
