Ole Miss may lose college football games, but Ole Miss does not lose a party. The hope is that the Rebels can do both in Tuscaloosa this weekend. They are already halfway there!

Lane Kiffin brings his team into Bryant-Denny Stadium for a top-15 matchup on Saturday afternoon. As he said prior to the game, it very well may be the last time that both teams play each other with Nick Saban as the head coach.

Ole Miss and Alabama will not play in 2024. There is a good chance that they will not play in 2025.

Will Saban be around in 2026? Who knows.

Either way, Kiffin wants to become the third former Saban assistant to take down the greatest college football coach of all-time. Should that happen, the Rebels fans who traveled to the Yellowhammer State will not be able to celebrate in the way that they would at home.

Crimson Tide fans shut down after Alabama loses. They don’t allow opposing fans into the fraternity houses. The bars are dead.

Thus, Ole Miss got the party started early at Rounders on Friday night.

Rounders On The Strip is the top college bar/nightclub in Tuscaloosa. It is always a raucous environment, but it is especially rowdy on game weekends.

After seeing the success of the Jell-O shot challenge in Omaha, Rounders decided to create its own challenge for the 2023 college football season. The concept is simple:

  1. Order a $4 kamikaze shot
  2. Tell the bartender which school you are rooting for
  3. That shot is counted toward a team total
  4. Whichever fanbase drinks more kamikaze shots wins

A kamikaze shot, for those who don’t know, is a simple blend of vodka, triple sec, and lime juice.

As I said before, Ole Miss does not lose a party. That was true at Rounders on Friday.

The Rebels took down the Crimson Tide on their home turf with a 14-shot win in the $4 challenge.

How embarrassing. The home team rolled over and lost by $56.
