Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for One Battle After Another, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead role. With a reported budget of about $150 million, the film is the most expensive of Paul Thomas Anderson’s career, director of films such as Boogie Nights, There Will Be Blood, and The Master.
Just a day after it was reported that Warner Bros. was shifting the release date of One Battle After Another from August to September, the studio has released the first teaser for the film and will drop the official trailer next week.
In addition to the Academy Award-winning Leonardo DiCaprio, One Battle After Another will also star Regina Hall, Sean Penn, Alana Haim, Teyana Taylor, Wood Harris, and Benicio del Toro.
Check out the official teaser for One Battle After Another, which hits theaters on September 26, below.
One Battle After Another is inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel Vineland, making it the second time Anderson has adapted one of Pynchon’s novels to film, having previously directed Inherent Vice in 2014.
One Battle After Another is DiCaprio’s third film of the 2020s so far, having previously starred in Adam McKay’s Don’t Look Up in 2021 and Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon in 2023.
Recent reports have indicated he and Scorsese are reviving their adaptation of Devil in the White City, which has been in development hell for over a decade, and that he’s also signed on to star in another Scorsese film that’ll be set in Hawaii and also star The Rock and Emily Blunt.
