‘Thrones’ Fans Demand Paddy Considine Win An Emmy Following A Titanic Performance In ‘House Of The Dragon’

Fans Want Paddy Considine To Win An Emmy For 'House Of The Dragon'

HBO

The debut season of House of the Dragon is nearing its conclusion as there are now just two episodes left until the season one finale.

Editor’s note: this article will contain spoilers for Season 1, Episode 8 of House of the Dragon, “The Lord of the Tides.”

After becoming more and more decrepit with each passing week, King Viserys finally kicked the bucket on Sunday night’s episode “The Lord of the Tides”, marking the first “major” death in the series.

Not prepared to perish without attempting to set things right with his family, though, Viserys mustered whatever strength he had left to participate in a throne-room meeting and a family supper, and the result was an acting masterclass from English actor Paddy Considine.

Game of Thrones fans shower praise on Paddy Considine for his performance as King Viserys House of the Dragon

After witnessing Considine’s incredible work, House of the Dragon fans took to Twitter to demand that the actor’s performance as King Viserys be recognized at next year’s Emmy Awards.

And while Considine hasn’t been the only highlight performer in the series so far, it’s clear that his work in episode 8 was one of the high points of House of the Dragon so far.

The penultimate episode of House of the Dragon‘s first season will hit HBO next Sunday, October 16, which will then be followed by the season one finale on Sunday, October 23. Perhaps predictably, HBO has already renewed the hit fantasy series for a second season.
