One incredible lucky gambler at the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh hit a 7-card straight flush while playing Pai Gow which triggered a progressive jackpot worth $1.39 million.

This comes less than two months after another massive progressive jackpot worth $905K was hit at the same Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh but that progressive jackpot was in the Texas Hold-Em poker room. And this $1.39 million jackpot breaks the previous Rivers Casino record of $1.2 million.

The odds of hitting a 7-card straight flush in Pai Gow are 1-in-676,066. To put that into context, the odds of hitting a 5-card straight flush (excluding a royal flush) in Texas Hold’em Poker is 1-in-3,590. A 7-card straight flush in Pai Gow is extremely rare.

Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh shared news of the $1.4 million jackpot on Instagram and Facebook along with a few details. The winning 7-card straight flush consisted of the 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, and 4 of clubs. And the gambler hit the jackpot at 2:45 AM which hints at the winner knowing their way around the casino and being a regular, but that’s entirely speculation on my part.

In a report from Western PA’s Trib Live, they say the previous largest Pai Gow jackpot at the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh was $92,000. That hit back in August 2020 when 5 aces took home 10% of the jackpot for $92K.

The report also says that the winning gambler had “two additional $5 side wagers, which accounted for $25,000 and $3,000 of the total winnings.”

Must. Be. Nice.
