With the COP27 summit kicking off in Egypt this week, the Office star has said he will now be known as Rainnfall Heat Wave Extreme Winter Wilson.

“With the help of my scientist friends at Arctic Basecamp, I’ve changed my name to Rainnfall Heat Wave Extreme Winter Wilson. This is not a joke, I’m as serious as the melting Arctic, which amplifies global risks including extreme weather events around the globe,” said Wilson. [via The Hollywood Reporter]

Wilson, 56 years old, made his feature film debut in the 1999 film cult classic Galaxy Quest and went on to appear in projects such as Almost Famous, House of 100 Corpses, Six Feet Under, before landing the role of Dwight Schrute on The Office, which ran on NBC from 2005 to 2013. For his work on The Office, Wilson was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at the Emmy Awards for three straight years.

In the years since The Office, Wilson has kept busy with roles on television shows such as Mom, Star Trek: Discovery, and Room 104. He’s also appeared in a bevy of films such as The Boy, Army of One, Shimmer Lake, Brightburn, Blackbird, Jerry & Marge Go Large, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, and more.

Understandably, though, Wilson has yet to find a role as long-lasting and influential as that of Dwight Schrute, which is considered one of the best sitcom characters of all time.
