While it’s long been known that Hollywood is a superficial town, its commitment to body image is perhaps even more extreme than some of us realized.

According to actress Rebel Wilson, who starred as a character literally named “Fat Amy” in the Pitch Perfect films, she had a clause in her contract that barred her from losing more than 10 pounds.

“I couldn’t lose a massive amount of weight, because I was in the contract for that movie. You can’t lose, I think it’s not more than 10 pounds, or gain more than 10 pounds. Yeah, you have to kind of stay at the weight. It’s in your contract,” Wilson said during a recent interview on Spotify’s Call Her Daddy podcast.

In addition to her role in Pitch Perfect, Wilson, an Australian, has appeared in films such as Bridesmaids, Jojo Rabbit, and Cats.

First released in 2012, Pitch Perfect starred an ensemble cast that featured Wilson, Anna Kendrick, Skylar Astin, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, Hana Mae Lee, Alexis Knapp, Ester Dean, Kelley Jakle, Shelley Regner, Wanetah Walmsley, Adam DeVine, Ben Platt, Utkarsh Ambudkar, John Michael Higgins, and Elizabeth Banks.

The sequel, Pitch Perfect 2, was released in 2015, which was then followed by Pitch Perfect 3 in 2017. A spinoff series centered on Adam Devine’s character, titled Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, also premiered on Peacock last year.

In total, the three Pitch Perfect films have grossed $353 million at the global box office, with Pitch Perfect 2 being the most successful of the trilogy.
