Sacha Baron Cohen has responded to Rebel Wilson claiming he threatened her over what she was going to write about him in her upcoming memoir.

Last week, Wilson claimed on her Instagram stories that she “wrote about an a–- hole in my book. Now, said a–- hole is trying to threaten me.”

At first, Rebel Wilson didn’t name any names, merely saying, “He’s hired a crisis PR manager and lawyers. He is trying to stop press coming out about my book. But the book WILL come out, and you will all know the truth.”

She also explained, “When I first came to Hollywood, people were like, yeah, ‘I have a no a–- hole policy.’ [It] means, like, ‘Yeah, I don’t work with a–- holes.’ I was like, ‘Oh, yeah.’ I mean, that sounds sensible or logical.

“But then [what they meant] really sunk in because I worked with a massive a–- hole. And yeah, now I definitely have a no a–- holes policy. The chapter on said a– hole is Chapter 23.”

Now she has revealed that the person Rebel Wilson was referring to in her upcoming memoir, Rebel Rising, is her The Brothers Grimsby co-star Sacha Baron Cohen.

Wilson says she will “not be bullied or silenced by high priced lawyers or PR crisis managers” and that “the ‘a–hole’ that I am talking about in ONE CHAPTER of my book is: Sacha Baron Cohen.”

Following the allegations by Rebel Wilson, a spokesperson for Cohen told Page Six, “While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.”

The Brothers Grimsby was released in 2016 and also starred Sacha Baron Cohen’s wife Isla Fisher.

Wilson’s book, which is described as a “refreshingly candid, hilarious, and inspiring book about her unconventional journey to Hollywood success and loving herself,” comes out April 2.
