Americans have a reputation for mastering the art of gluttony, and the country is filled with fast food restaurants that have done a lot to reinforce that perception. However, Shake Shack has truly gone above and beyond with a new offering that is packed with an unholy amount of calories.

Most people who go to a fast food restaurant are not particularly concerned with their caloric intake, as those are typically not the kind of establishments you want to grab a meal at if your health is a top priority.

I recently decided to comb through dozens of fast food menus in quest to find out which chains offer the items that boast the highest number of calories. The Triple Whopper with Bacon & Cheese at Burger King took the crown when it comes to food at a whopping 1,350, but I was somewhat surprised to discover drinks ended up being the worst offenders overall.

A limited-edition Dubai chocolate milkshake at Baskin-Robbins secured the top spot in that category, but Shake Shack is giving it a run for its money with a new collaboration.

Shake Shack is selling a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup milkshake that contains 1,900 calories

Shake Shack made an appearance on the drinks list, as no item listed on the menu when I wrote that article had more calories than the 1,190 you’ll treat yourself to if you finish an entire “Loaded” Chocolate Cookies & Cream Shake.

However, that’s nothing compared to what you’ll get if you opt for a new addition.

On Tuesday, the chain announced the release of its newest offering, a limited-edition Reese’s Peanut Butter Shake, which features “vanilla frozen custard hand-spun with Reese’s Creamy Peanut Butter and fudge sauce, poured in a crackable dark chocolate shell, and topped with whipped cream, Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter Cups and chopped Reese’s Pieces.”

The shake contains a number of different ingredients that are known for being particularly calorie-dense, and that is reflected in a count that comes in at a grand total of 1,900.

That’s higher than the recommended daily allotment the FDA advises most females who fall in the “sedentary” category to consume, but the majority of people following those guidelines won’t have much to work with after drinking one of the milkshakes.

The FDA also says anyone following a 2,000-calorie diet should limit themselves to 50 grams of added sugars per day, but the milkshake obliterates that total with the 158 grams it boasts.

I feel like most people have an idea of what they’re signing up for when they opt for a Reese’s milkshake, but don’t say you haven’t been warned.
