After a midsummer scare that had fans fearing for the future of Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the two movie studios who own the rights to the character — Sony and Marvel Studios — were able to come to an agreement regarding the character’s usage.
Now, with the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man locked into the MCU for the foreseeable future, development on the third film in the franchise is already underway, with official production set to begin this summer.
According to ComicBook, “production on the still-untitled Spider-Man: Homecoming 3 is set to begin in July and hits some interesting locations for production: Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, and Iceland.”
Now, while Atlanta, New York, and Los Angeles are all relatively similar (you know, they’re all major America cities), the inclusion of Iceland has some fans believing that the setting will be used to introduce iconic Spidey villain Kraven the Hunter.
Iceland in Batman Begins, Rogue One, Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and Journey to the Center of the Earth.

The introduction of Kraven the Hunter certainly seems like an eventuality at this point, as Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home director Jon Watts has previously expressed a passionate interest in adapting the character to the big screen.
“Oh, I would love Kraven. It’s just the trick of how do you do Kraven in a movie?” Watts said on CinemaBlend‘s “ReelBlend” podcast.
Kraven the Hunter — real name Sergei Kravinoff — is essentially a deranged big game hunter who sees Spider-Man as the ultimate trophy kill. A founding member of the Sinister Six, while Kraven has never appeared on the big screen, his “Kraven’s Last Hunt” story arc is widely considered to be one of the greatest Spider-Man stories ever told.
