A Spirit Halloween worker has gone viral after discovering some of the absurd AI brainrot costumes being sold this year.
Spirit Halloween are known for their pop culture-savvy costumes. But do these years’ costumes go too far?
With spooky season officially on the way, Spirit Halloween have dropped a number of new Halloween costumes for people to enjoy.
However, TikToker and employee @gethsemani3214 poses an important question: Have this year’s costumes gone too far?
The video begins with a woman asking, “What is that?” The camera then pans to costume of a cappuccino mug on a human body. The camera then goes to the TikToker, who is wearing a Spirit Halloween apron, along with a co-worker in the video. “I work at Spirit,” she says. She then shows the costume to the camera and asks her co-worker, “What?”
She then discusses the costume with her co-worker, still in disbelief, before later saying, “There’s no way.”
The TikTok, which has amassed 1 million views, is accompanied by on-screen text that reads, “It’s official: we have brainrot costumes at Spirit Halloween.” Creepy music also plays in the background.
BroBible reached out to Spirit Halloween and the TikToker via email.
‘Kind Of Like It’
Some commenters admitted to being invested in the costume.
“Lol wait why is it kinda cute though?” one asked.
“I guess unpopular opinion but I kind of like it,” a second said. “Every costume is the same every year so it’s nice to see something new.”
A third proclaimed, “I am def being Ballerina Cappuccina hello.”
Others shared their beliefs on the extent of the brain rot costume trend.
“They had brainrot costumes last year too bruh even Stanley cups,” a fourth pointed out.
A fifth declared, “They don’t have John Pork, we haven’t reached peak slop.”
Elsewhere, a sixth made a valid point. “Well, I mean AI can’t be copyrighted so Spirit is probably making so much money off somebody’s randomly popular AI nonsense,” they said.
Who (Or What) Is Ballerina Cappucina?
Ballerina Cappucina is a central character in the Italian Brainrot subculture. For the uninitiated, Italian Brainrot, which first went viral in early 2025, is a surrealist, mostly-gibberish TikTok series that centers around a range of (mostly) animals fused with inanimate objects. Other characters include Bombardiro Crocodilo: a crocodile that is fused with a bomber plane, and Chimpanzini Bananini, a chimpanzee spliced with a banana.
In terms of Ballerina Cappucina‘s specific lore (that’s right, there’s lore), she is usually depicted as being married to Cappuccino Assassino. Her beau is a takeout coffeee cup with limbs, which he utilizes by wielding katana swords. As the name implies, he works as an assassin, murdering victims under the cover of the night sky.
Espressona Signora is also a big part of Ballerina Cappucina’s lore. Visually, she is a more seductive version of the character. In turn, it is widely believed that she is love rivals with Ballerina Cappucina. This is because she is apparently having an affair with her husband, Cappuccino Assassino. The two are also portrayed as sisters in some videos.
Still, in a lot of fanmade depictions of the character, Ballerina Cappucina gets even. She is portrayed as also having an affair with Ballerino Lololo. However, this hasn’t been confirmed as canon.
Ultimately, your Halloween costume says a lot about you as a person. So, if you’re tempted to go as Ballerina Cappucina, that’s probably an indication that you need to put down your phone.
