‘Stranger Things’ Star Says Season 4 Is The Scariest One Yet

Prior to our current global situation, Stranger Things 4 was in the midst of production before being forced to shut down on Friday, March 13. With Stranger Things 3 hitting Netflix in July 2019, it certainly looked possible that the fourth season would have been released before the end of 2020.

While they may no longer be the case, the cast and crew of the series were far enough into production to have an idea of what the upcoming season will look like, and according to Joe Keery — the actor who plays fan-favorite character Steve Harrington — the fourth installment of Stranger Things is set to be the scariest yet.

“Oh man, it’s pretty amazing — the Duffer brothers have really done it again,” Keery said while promoting the Ryan Reynolds-starring film Free Guy, which was directed by Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy.

“I think that this year — and I know I say this every single year — but this is definitely going to be a lot scarier than prior years, because last year was pretty dark,” Keery said. [via Total Film Magazine]

As the core group of kids (naturally) grow older and become more mature, that allows the writers to make each passing season increasingly threatening as the main cast of characters become more capable of fending for themselves.

Given the way things around the planet currently are right now, it’s likely we won’t see the fourth season of the hit Netflix sci-fi series until sometime in 2021.
