Super Troopers 2 only left theaters two weeks ago, but the Broken Lizard crew are ready to bust more criminals because that’s what they do. Everyone’s favorite highway patrol officers are all antsy in their pantsies to make Super Troopers 3 and they already have a kickass title that is inspired by a huge comic book movie.
The third chapter will apparently be titled Super Troopers: Winter Soldiers as a nod to Captain America: The Winter Soldier. “We are writing Super Troopers 3: Winter Soldiers right now,” said actor and director Jay Chandrasekhar. Coincidentally, Chandrasekhar has been linked to an upcoming Marvel project.

It took 16 years for Super Troopers 2 to come to fruition, but it doesn’t sound like you’ll have to wait for the next installment. “We’re looking to get the third one going,” said Kevin Heffernan. “And hopefully it won’t take as long as it did to get the second one going. We don’t want to be, like, in our 70s when we do it. We gotta get on it.” I don’t know, a 70-year-old Mac and Farva arguing over the last slice of meatloaf at the old folks home could be interesting.

And you won’t have to pony up any money to fund Super Troopers 3: Winter Soldiers. “I don’t think we will crowdfund the next one,” Thorny said. “We needed a favor from our fans on the last one. They delivered. I don’t know that we need to make them pay for the next one.” (Via)
Super Troopers 2 was partially funded by you the people with $4,617,223 donated on the crowdfunding site Indiegogo. The sequel had a budget of $13.5 million and made $30,617,396 at the box office. This is all fantastic news, but when do we get Beerfest 2?
