Step Up Your Tailgating With These Recipes From Eckrich

Football season means tailgating season. Tailgating season means pigging out on the most delicious gameday grub. This is the kind of food that was meant to be paired with a cold one in between games of cornhole and last-minute fantasy lineup changes.

Here in Wisconsin, tailgating is not just a weekend activity; it’s a way of life. You could just show up with a pack of brats and buns and call it a day, but where’s the fun in that? This is the land of beer, cheese, and sausage! When we get invited to a tailgate, my fiancee and I make sure we come prepared. That’s why we’re having a blast making amazing gameday recipes using Eckrich’s line of smoked sausages.

Here are some of our personal favorites:

Sausage Pretzel Bites

Tailgating

A meatier take on the traditional pigs in a blanket, these delightful, easy-to-make sausage bites make for the perfect appetizers. I can and have eaten whole plates of these before. I do not regret forgetting to share.

Jalapeño Popper Sausage Skillet

Tailgating

This jalapeño popper skillet takes the classic bar snack and turns it into a spicy skillet, perfect for game day! Unapologetically fiery, with a combo of fresh jalapeño peppers and Eckrich® Jalapeño & Cheddar Links, this dish cranks the heat — and the flavors — to epic levels. This is a next-level dip that might be too much for your average tortilla chip. I’d recommend a thicker bagel chip or some nice homemade toast points.

Mini Hawaiian Pineapple Li’l Smokies Kabobs

These sweet and savory snacks are sure to be a hit at your next tailgate! A homemade umami-rich marinade seamlessly blends the tropical, juicy flavors of pineapple with Eckrich® Li’l Smokies Original Cocktail Smoked Sausages. Fire up a big batch for everyone to share — grass skirts are optional if they match your jersey!

Creamy Braised White Beans and Sausage

Tailgating

This one was a real sleeper for us. My fiancee doesn’t always love beans, but she LOVED this dish. Creamy white beans and Eckrich Smoked Sausage, naturally hardwood smoked and seasoned to perfection, make a comforting duo spooned over biscuits, toast, or any bread you like. This brings some nice breakfast vibes for your early tailgates before the noon kickoff.
