The Kentucky Derby was held over the weekend at Churchill Downs in Louisville, leading to some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment flocking to the Bluegrass State, including sports media personalities Taylor Rooks and Joy Taylor.

Taylor, who is over at Fox Sports 1 and hosts Speak For Yourself, went viral thanks to her red dress, while Rooks — who works for both Turner Sports and Prime Video — donned a golden look.

Clearly good friends, the pair were seen hanging together all day and took to Instagram to share some photos.

Prior to landing at Fox Sports 1 back in 2016 — where she previously helped anchor The Herd with Colin Cowherd and moderated Skip and Shannon: Undisputed — the 36-year-old Taylor worked for the radio network 790 AM The Ticket in Miami.

As for the 30-year-old Rooks, after graduating from the University of Illinois back in 2014, she landed at the Big Ten Network before moving to SNY. From there, as her social media popularity grew, Rooks began covering the NBA for TNT and the NFL for Prime Video.

Given photos like these, you can imagine what Rooks’ social media mentions must be like, as she recently revealed in an interview that they “are crazy.”

“They are crazy. I owe a lot of my career to social media. But there are times when you have to take breaks. The more popular you get, the mentions get a little crazier,” Rooks said.

As for the actual race, Mage — a 15-1 longshot led by trainer Gustavo Delgado and jockey Javier Castellano — won the 149th Kentucky Derby. Of the eighteen horses that started the race, Mage finished first with a time of 2:01.57.

“He’s [Mage] got a lot of heart,” Castellano following the win. “He’s a little horse but [has] a big heart.”
